What We’re Not Looking For

• Romance (including romantic suspense)
• Fantasy (high fantasy, epic fantasy, urban fantasy, etc.)
• Supernatural creature genres:
  • Vampires
  • Werewolves
  • Zombies
  • Demons, witches, warlocks, etc.
• Poetry
• Children’s books
• Erotica
• Hard science fiction

Submission Format

Please submit your work in the following format:

• Standard manuscript format (see below)
• 12 pt font, double-spaced
• PDF or DOCX
• Include your name, email, and word count on the first page

Standard Manuscript Formatting

Your manuscript should follow widely accepted industry standards:

• Use a readable serif font (e.g., Times New Roman, Garamond, Georgia)
• 12 pt font size
• Double-spaced throughout
• 1-inch margins on all sides
• Left-aligned text (no full justification)
• Indent paragraphs by 0.5 inches
• Include page numbers in the header or footer
• Use a title page with:
  • Story title
  • Your name (or pen name)
  • Your email address
  • Word count (rounded to nearest hundred)
• Use scene breaks with a centered *** or #
• Submit as a single file (PDF or DOCX)

Response Time

We aim to respond within 4–6 weeks. If you haven’t heard back after 8 weeks, feel free to send a brief follow-up email.

Rights

For accepted works, we typically request first publication rights and non-exclusive archival rights. All rights revert to the author after publication.
